Hey guys have any of you recorded one of your tournament battles? I was wanting to see an actual battle.

All of the tournament threads have links to replay files of all tourney battles. These are from various edu's however. I have them all on my comp if you wanted for example, the July or June edu's. There are also some replays in the friendly's thread but again, these use different edus and are not organized nearly as neatly.

On a side note, I'm planning on uploading a few as well but the new edu screwed up all my old replays. As soon as I get some good battles in I'll upload them.

I have the previous tournament edu's saved, I just don't have all the previous versions of 3.0 saved and I was trying to make a video with those. Maybe I should just use old tournament battles. That would be a good idea.

Btw, when we get around to doing a single-elim (yes!) bracketed tourney some day, I totally expect to produce either single or dual commentary on each of the rounds/battles since they'd be so short and we could schedule times and whatnot.

You dont need to schedule time for that. Just fixtures. Maybe get a spectator in.

Well I remeber times when I was in chess club, we had a lot talks about good moves or tactics, I would just gladly see something similar in EBO community, just my thoughts tho.:)

That's what a friend of mine named it, when two people commentate on a battle, be it live or recorded. Both of you get on Skype, for instance, and both can see the replay or better yet, live game, and of course one of you records the audio/video.

Why is it really necessary? I really think we have enough players and mostly everyone can play each other so a bracket tournament does not look that difficult now.

So how do we determine the 8 or 16 or however many people will be in this tournament? Do we run a lottery system? Do we have a systematic approach? What?

Handle it like the NCAA basketball season. However many players can play throughout the months and a win/loss record is created. The 8 or 16 players next summer with the best records will make it to the tourney which would be considered some form of Champions Cup/Tournament. If there are ties for the last spot, a play-in game would be scheduled. Of course, games would have to be specified for counting towards the win/loss record or else you will have lazy hunting for noobs to boost his score.:clown:

It was quite the event though I can't remember the teams. All I remember is that Vega played probably the best game I've seen from him and nearly snatched victory from the jaws of defeat for his team.

Oh my god! Our other flank did not use our heavy infantry advantage... no wonder we lost. I liked the other 4vs4 too by the way. Can't agree with this "much better" thing. It's also important to mention that polybian romans don't have that clear number advantage and really lack the power to kill their enemies. I was able to encircle and rout the carthaginians on my flank but it took so much time...

All I saw were Neitos and legionaries (having 82-102 men per unit) against Neitos and Karti units with only 82 men :P

I do not say they've NO number advantage but that it's smaller then for phalangitai/post-marian legionaries. By the way I had hastati, principes, triarii, dunaminca, neitos, iberian lightinfantry.... without the merc I would have had no chance to rout my flank at all I think.
