In my time we didn't do that newfangled thing called dating. We went to a ball when we were in our late teens and the first girl that agreed to dance was the girl you stayed with for the rest of your life. And we were content with that. Now all those young ones take girls all over the place as if you can try them out before settling, ha.

The frontroom is devoid of girl problems at the moment. I'm starting to doubt I'm actually on the right site. Therefor I'm here to set things right again.
I just went ice skating with my love interest in potentia (I'm not rushing) and now it's my turn to think of/organize something. Any ideas other than the classic dinner and movie?

I'd imagine you'd want to do something you both would like to do and tells something about yourself. So what do you like to do that is girl and date friendly? Do you have some hobby or pasttime that is useable? Can also be a former hobby. One could also visit something you like or go watch something. Though personally I don't like to the latter, especially in the beginning. It allows for almost no interaction and conversation and is the ideal date for when you don't anything to say to each other any more. But that's hopefully months or years away.

Suggestions:
paintballing
water skiing
amusement park
I've seen ads of some musical event in Ghent, perhaps that's a possibility?
A day to Brugges or something similar?

Belgium?

Well, as someone going to Brussels tomorrow, i guess i can't criticise. Any spots worth visiting in Brussels?

Take a look at this website (http://visitbrussels.be/bitc/BE_en/do-see/to-see/top-10.do) if you haven't done already.

Besides, I really can't take her to Paris on a fourth date, now can I. That's more for a fifth date.

I do have a decent knowledge of Ghent as I was a student there while she studied in Antwerp. So perhaps there lies a possibility. You can never go wrong with a trip to the Chocolate bar, ...

Lay trash bags on the floor and eat spaghetti together with your hands.

Some more ideas:
-Zoo
-bowling
-Go shop for ingredients for a dinner you'll be making together
-wall climbing
-tennis or squash
-wine tasting
-Go to a open mic/ free podium thingy. It's always fun to outdo each other in telling how bad this or that guy was.

I would guess that it relates to his current predicament. :3

PP, what sort of things does mademoiselle enjoy doing? That would be your safe choice, or you could be a little adventurous and go for something right out the ballpark... :P

That's the problem. I'm not the great communicator and apparently she seems a lot like me so other than tennis, badminton and movies, I have absolutly no clue. I'm also a bit weird/wacky/... So I'm looking for somethin out of the ballpark but not too extreme as it'll be only our 4th date.

Bowling is a possibility and I thought about squash. Wall climbing is a maybe. I'm trying to steer away from doing something at my place. She's fresh out of uni, so constantly doing something at my place may send the wrong message.

Of course, after the activity.

I actually expected more from you strike. Something with 'bare chested' and 'oiled up'.

Pfff, in my days, we went to a big cave were all guys were standing, wearing a bear skin and waving around big mammoth bones. Then we started hitting each other. The last man standing got all the women. Conversations were limited to "grumph", "urgh" and "waaaa".

Random ideas:
- A day trip to a city none of you has visited before? Just take the train, go to the tourist information office, get a map of the city and explore it together, picking the things that interest you both.
- Take her to a city you know (Gent is the obvious choice for you, I guess) and show her around. Start at lunch time; if you're having a good time, you'll probably stay there for dinner too.
- Don't know if it's still the season, but how about something like Six Flags? Always fun to wake up your inner child again. And nothing beats sitting next to each other in some small cart moving at an insane speed, screaming your lungs out together.
