at the moment im not playing simply because the reformator is like 62 or something and could die at any moment

Welcome to the forums capomafioso!

Have you activated the script when playing EB? (Clicking the advisor in the top left corner every time you start up an EB file)

Well I guess it depends on how long those "once or twice" times were. The reforms are based on the number of turns elapsed and not the actual year as represented in game so if you played for a significant length of time without the script then the reform script might only think you are in the year 200BC for example. Thats why you really need to put it on every time.

It should be second nature to check your cities and things before you end turn and the little pop-up advisor should remind you to turn the script on. I have trouble imagining how you could play for too long without getting annoyed at the damn pop-up =)

Also, just check your cities and scroll down the building list to see if the 'Marian Reform' marker has been placed. Sometimes it may not be quite so obvious that they have occured.....maybe.

you could of course manually change the reforms by amending the criteria. For example securing x provinces once x number of turns have passed. Search the forum for the guides by better qualified members.

XSamatan will see this soon enough, he'll help you out.

What operating system are you playing on? What version or EB are you playing? Have you applied the 1.2 fixes? Have you installed any other mods?

I think that's the bulk of the important questions.

im playing on windows xp and have put on the force diplomacy mod (im foolishly playing vh/vh and cant take the full stacks anymore) i think ive upgraded to 1.2 but in the corner of the front page it still says 1.1 so ive been wondering about that recently aswell

yeah lol if i forgot to turn on the script its because i always prepare myself to end a turn just before closing the game, so when i sstart up again i just end turn without thinking sometimes. also i checked the building list and couldnt see marian reforms (i checked roma) so i dunno i pranged it somehow, but its ok i changed the criteria and got the marian reforms and it sorted out, i guess.....i dont really like having to mess around with the game, but whatever.

thanks for your help guys

Oh wow, looks like you havent installed 1.2 correctly. If 1.1 shows up on the front page you definately haven't installed it right. I'm not sure if 1.1 and 1.2 are save game compatible but that could have been the source of the problem. Good job fixing your own problem, if someone can let you know if 1.1 and 1.2 are save game compatible I would probably recommend installing 1.2, otherwise you might lose your file.

Nah your alright mate, just make sure you get it working. It's too good not to play, I'm currently on my 15th KH campaign...

KH is definately a fun faction. I'm maybe not quite so dedicated to play 15 of them but I've got a good 4 or 5 under my belt.

During all the time I played EB I never got around to playing a KH campaing. I love their units and the idea about them but the problem is, I have a hard time defending the idea of them going out to conquer and since I roleplay my campaigns it just doesn't make sense to me.

All about setting free the colonies from the barbaroi ^^
Or throwing in some Isocrates' ideas :D

Yeah, I don't conquer with them. Its a nice slow campaign once you get past the start point thats all about defending and liberating oppressed peoples and if you really want to roleplay it then let them rebell back again rather than a type 4 gov.

Of course Athens especially but Sparta also have a past set up along the lines of empires. So in one of my games I played as Athens and after destroying Makedonia totally I abandonned the Asia minor territories to rebels and set up a gradual fall apart and subsequent civil war by abandoning all territories except for Athens. From there I just slowly subjugated my fellow greeks back into Type 4's.

By about 150BC I had the Ionian coast, an independant, rebel Delphi (planned) and was attempting to expand into Sicily (big mistake) when I had major attacks from a few different angles. My playstyle involves running very low on smallish standing armies and little to no garrisons if possible so this lead to a very historical repeat of the collapse of the athenian empire except it was by romans and a mega pontus. Fun times and if you play it a little differently to your normal game its very easy to roleplay.
