I came across this site, and instantly thought that this was something for the EB fans. It's a project designed to let laymen like myself and most of you get a chance to help the professionals advance the cause of science.
Particularly the Ancient Lives project, which is about transcribing Greek papyri from the ancient city of Oxyrhynchus. It's not easy though, as the papyri are worn and the handwriting could be nicer in many cases.
The main site can be found here (http://www.zooniverse.org/), and the Ancient Lives project should be on the first page. You just have to create an account, and then have fun transcribing genuine papyri from the Ptolemaic era.
