View Full Version : Taxes
Just thought I'd tell the org that can I offer free, basic tax advice. Most of you won't really care about your taxes around this time of year (unless you extended and are filing to meet the extended due date on October 17), but I thought I would let everyone know I'm a resource if you have questions. I should add that I'm not yet a CPA, but I'm working on obtaining my license (I take the first part of the exam next month... I can't wait... =/).

Haha. Taxes aren't great at all, but an evil necessity. That being said, everyone deserves to pay the least amount possible according to the current laws.

The IRS is owes me 8500 for my first-time homebuye tax credit, I bought the home in a non-traditional manner, and me not having a HUD Settlement to them is like trying to teach a chicken a magic trick: they just don't get it. And boy, am I having to fight to prove I bought/own this house.

Have you thought about hiring a CPA or an attorney to write them on your behalf? From what I've seen, they can be quite a pain in the ass, but if you get the right person to call/write, the matter usually gets resolved.
