Need help altering RTW named character names for factions.

Hello I am trying to alter the Dacia faction to use greek names. I can't just copy and paste names from another faction over the old ones without the game having to CTD. I can add names to the faction and have no problem with the game working. But, when I remove the old Dacia names the game can't run and CTD's. Can anyone help me out with this problem?

You still have Dacian names for the characters at the beginning of the campaign. To fix this, go to world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign/descr_strat.txt, scroll down to Dacia and change the names to the Greek ones. That should work...

Thanks, but I have removed the Dacia faction from the game to create another faction already. There are no names to change. One thing I have found from testing the name change though is I can add whatever name I want long as it exist in another factions name que. I have deleted the names in the Dacia faction one by one and found a few names when deleted cause the game to crash (Dapyx & Dicomes). These are the ones I have found so far that cannot be deleted yet. I imagine that these names are being used by another faction to name some of the characters. I'll keep trouble shooting to find which ones can't be removed then look for the characters in descr_strat.txt that are using those names and change them so I can finally delete the ones that are left.

Hey thanks, I just checked the descr_strat.txt and found that the rebel faction was using some of the names. I never looked that hard into the descr_strat.txt until you mentioned it.
