I've been on main TW forum and S2 forum for awhile and wandered this way in connection to looking for frogbeastegg's guide to shogun 2 awhile back and thought I should just go ahead sign up.

I've played shogun 2 the most, somehow that one really strikes a cord with me, I like everything about it. I've also played previous TW's, a lot of ETW, some NTW, and a fair amount of MTW and RTW. But like I said, S2 has been head and shoulders above the rest for me, there's something about the way they weaved an RPG element into the development of your agents and generals, and units for that matter that really works.

Btw, I've not yet picked up ROTS, is everyone of the opinion it's worth it? I mean I"m sure it is, but I guess what I'm really doing is stalling till they release a patch on it. I don't know why, but i'm really hung up on that issue of the allegiance event being bugged. I've gotten CA on the main forum to acknowledge it as a bug, which is progress, now I'd just love to see them release another SP focused patch and fix it before I buy it. Minor quibble i know.

Anyway, sorry for that digression, and thx again for the welcome, funny to watch me hi-jack my own thread isn't it? :smash:

Don't know if you already read Monk's review on RoTS. Just in case you didn't, it's right here (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?138390-Rise-of-the-Samurai-.Org-Review).

Shogun II is one of my favourites in the series too, a pity a don't have much time nowadays to play games as I used to do.

I spent an awful lot of time with R:TW and M:TW back in the day. I enjoyed M2:TW as well, but found a bit disappointing. I never bought E:TW nor N:TW; the era just doesn't appeal to me.

Shogun II was a must have, since I'm pretty fascinated with the Sengoku Jidai period.
