Legend of the Green Dragon, that is.

https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?138503-The-Legend-of-the-Green-Dragon

I guess I am hooked on it. Spending way too much time. But it is still a blast.

I just wondered who else likes it and has anything more to say about it?

You guys should click my link if you wanna try it out (http://www.totalwar.org/lotgd/referral.php?r=Veho%20Nex)

Before you do that, you might want to consult my handy guide on LoGD time-money management. Otherwise, you'll probably be stuck as a Farmboy/girl for a week. (http://www.totalwar.org/lotgd/referral.php?r=Montmorency)

Any clue to what it is?

Any clue to what it is?

LOL! A couple of shameless plugs huh?

Take any of the links above, click on “Create a character” and fallow the instructions.

It is a rather whimsical little game where the object is to slay the dragon.

It is text based and has been around since before the internet, but it is still a lot of fun.

TinCow brought it in and some of the game is customized just for the .Org.

What’s the matter people? Are you ashamed or something?

Shall we start naming names?

Some are obvious but we can make some good guesses at some of the others.

There are 30 something players there but only three of us are talking…outrageous.

I suck .Don't worry, here are some tips:

GO SLUMMING. There is a nearly 0% chance of losing (and therefore dying). You don't get as much gold or experience, but it is better than getting no gold or experience 'cause you're dead.

USE THE BANK. Every time you kill something, leave the forest and go deposit all the gold in the bank. That way you never lose lots of $$$ if you die.

HOARD YOUR GEMS. Don't spend them frugally, save them. There will be a time where everything you need requires gems, and if you waste them then you are screwed.

DONT PvP. Especially against OrgAdmin! In general, don't do it. Just about everyone will be a higher rank. Also, now would an appropriate time to apologise for having my grizzly bear maul you to death twice.

DON'T HAUNT. It is a waste of favor points with therother, you should save those for another occasion where you are dead so you can resurrect yourself.

Also, once you reach level 4 I have found that the game becomes way easier. You suddenly get loads and loads of gold, so much that you think you can buy everything. But you can't, because you find that all the the expensive items also cost gems. So after level 4, gold becomes just about useless in my opinion. You have tons of it but nothing to spend it on. This is why hoarding your gems is so important!

hmm what expensive things are there to spend gems on? I admit I've ignored the hat/tattoo/jewelry stuff.

Fisherking

Hats art only status symbols. Jewelry may be of more use and I admit that I don’t know what tattoos do one way or the other.

Gifts from the alley just seem to be a waste.

Horses and mercenaries are not bad. You lose the mercenaries when you kill the dragon but you do need them a bit to go up.

Are they better than my reliable, disposable, cheap summoned skeletons?

Populus Romanus
10-24-2011, 07:43
I wanted to hire mercs. I had all the required money and gems. But apparently I didn't have enough companions to convince them to join me. What I don't get is, what other companions could I get other than the mercs? I already have the grizzly. If that is not enough to convince them to join to me, then there is nothing really left that I can do, is there?

yes and you can keep using the skeletons while you have them.

And Populus,

I never had a problem getting one. Maybe the bear is the problem. It is one of sorts. What are it's stats?

I personally blow all mine on permanent hp increases.

That's what I've been going for...and a bunch on foilwench who I keep hoping will give me something more than a dark arts point.

Can't see spending it on charm because you can get it for free...although I ignored violet for ages and lost 14 charm running a way from a cat so I'm the hole big time on that front.

For the record, the Cerberus/Gorgon fights are related to the jewelry and tattoos. Buying jewelry and tattoos will make those things easier to beat. Not buying them makes them nasty.

Montmorency
10-24-2011, 22:23
Cerberus ain't nothing but a thing. Not difficult to beat, really.

Also, here's a tip from the most charming guy in the game: don't get married.

TheLastDays

So did you implement the marriage system?

Anyway, a few tips from an old timer:

Don't use gems on Foilwench, you only get Dark Arts Points. Spending them on Extra HP is a very good idea. If you want to go for speed dragon kills always choose the extra forest fight after slaying the beast.

I dare you all to beat my record of slaying the dragon in two ingame days

Fisherking

The marriage system is there. Evidently a divorce system too.
After killing the dragon I came home to find I was no longer married.

I lost a lot of charm running form a gorgon or something. Like 7! I was already fighting a master each time I went to town and was struggling to get enough cash to buy weapons and armor.

I should make it up though with another dragon kill or two.

Your record is tied but not broken.

Well, now they have gone into real estate development.

Shacks, farmhouses, and castles. And there is the home repair costs.

Next they will be opening a Home Depot or an Obi.
