hey I was thinking we just replace our Kingdoms Britannia game with another.

This time we might do battles rather than autoresolve but it depends what the players prefer. Not sure who will admin this yet but please post here if you are interested in the game - first come first served!

Myth

England again :D I'm ok with either fought or AR. I can admin but i'd need you when i'get an unfair advantage for looking at enemy factions.

Heh it's sort of dumb of me to repeat factions but i couldn't resist taking England in a first come - first served scenario. I might be willing to trade based on the battle.method and the player base.

I kind of meant that the places would fill up with the first people that posted, rather than faction choice would be on that basis...like you say we'll see who else is interested

Nightbringer

I would be interested.

Myth

I'll try to get Slysnake on board (that is, unless Zim wants another go at a Britannia game?), and hopefully Ignoramus will join the rematch as well.

Ignoramus

Definitely in, Llywelyn's Ghost will return to haunt you, Myth!

Mithridate
11-03-2011, 11:10
I would like to join, and I would like to humbly request fought battles and playing the Welsh or Norwegians.

Not used to kingdoms nor hotseats, and if you want to have a rematch with the same players id gladly step aside.

phonicsmonkey
11-03-2011, 12:23
well that's four, just need one more to start (I'm not playing in this one)

Ignoramus
11-03-2011, 22:33
How about Cecil or Zim?

phonicsmonkey
11-07-2011, 06:46
Ok I've decided that I will join this one as FN looks like it's finishing up.

Can I be the Norse though?

Also due to the lack of ability to fort up I think this one had better stay AR, is that ok with everyone?

Myth
11-07-2011, 08:32
Sure that's fine.

Nightbringer
11-07-2011, 08:41
Alright with me, if we are claiming factions, I could go for England myself, but would be fine with anything.

Ignoramus
11-07-2011, 11:58
I'd like to try the Welsh again - if I may. Something about being the underdog always appeals to me.

phonicsmonkey

Are you still interested if it's auto-resolved and you can't be Wales or the Norse? I could change faction if necessary.

Or, Igno, would you consider Ireland or Scotland instead?

I think it would be hard to have a game with fought battles where you can't build forts....it would be very defensive and one or two battles could decide a war between two factions.

Ignoramus
11-07-2011, 12:20
I'd do Scotland if Mithridate wants Wales - always enjoy fighting for my ancestors(or against them as last game).

Myth
11-07-2011, 14:40
Or we can do some RNG action and then trade factions if we want? Either that or it's first come-first served in which case everyone will hate me for getting England again

phonicsmonkey
11-07-2011, 22:37
Myth, why don't you try Ireland this time?

Myth
11-08-2011, 00:13
If you would deny me my birthright for the English then I want Wales :sneaky:

Ignoramus
11-08-2011, 00:20
If Myth wants Wales, then I'd love to thump his face in with the English.

:laugh4:

Myth
11-08-2011, 00:31
Now now, you must not carry over spite from previous games. Somehow I don't feel the brotherly love from you Ignoramus :beam:

phonicsmonkey
11-08-2011, 00:44
ok, so whether we have a game or not depends on whether Mithridate will take Ireland or Scotland

Myth
11-08-2011, 01:13
No it wouldn't be fair to him making him take Ireland, seeing as how he is a new player and all. Nightbringer gave me England when I asked for it last time when I was new, so I can take Ireland now. I have some ideas about Irelland anyway. So final setup:

Me as Irleand
Monkey as the Norse
Nightbringer as England
Mithridate as Wales
Ignoramus as Scotland

Aye? Get it set up then.

Ignoramus
11-08-2011, 02:07
I'm happy with that. Let's hope I don't suffer Cecil's fate.

BTW, what are doing regarding the BA if they emerge?

Nightbringer
11-08-2011, 02:36
Well, technically they are Englishmen so they would be mine right :)

phonicsmonkey

I'll make them human-controlled and we can find someone for them if they pop up or switch them to AI if no-one is interested.

I won't be able to kick this off until I'm at home on Thursday - that will give Mithri time to confirm he's in (he just sent me a pm suggesting otherwise).

What about calling this one "Anarchy in the UK?" :laugh4:

Myth
11-08-2011, 08:49
England destroys Wales and claims the "Prince of Wales" title for the Heir in Waiting to honor the struggle with Llewelyn and his people. So essentially England = England+Wales
England and Scotland unite in 1707 due to the same (Scottish) king sitting on both thrones. This is now the United Kingdoms of England and Scotland (United Kingdom, UK)
England takes Northern Ireland becoming the Great Britain
England takes 2/3 of the world becoming the British Empire, and what countries used to be part of that (sans those naughty Americans) is now the British Commonwealth

Hence it is not correct to call anything UK in this time period. I would instead suggest "Rex Regnum Britannia" very loosely translated as "The King who rules the British Isles" in Latin. Note that I don't really speak Latin but google helped me out with my guesswork for these.

Nightbringer
11-08-2011, 08:56
We could also just call it England, since that pretty much summarizes everything that is there. :flame:

Ignoramus

Hi Myth,

The title sounds good, only I think it should be "Rex Regnus Britannia" as Rex is nominative.

phonicsmonkey
11-08-2011, 09:00
Sorry guys but Latin game names are not nearly showbiz enough for me. You'll have to save that yawn-a-thon for another time.

Myth
11-08-2011, 09:08
How about "King of the Britons: I didn't vote for you"

No seriously: "The war for Britannia", "War of the four Kings" or "The Great Prize: Ruler of Britannia"?

Also, Latin is awesome and if you don't like it then you're not awesome. It's logic! :clown:

Nightbringer
11-08-2011, 09:15
I like war of the four Kings myself, except we need to include the Norse, so "War of the Four Kings, and the Shrubber"

phonicsmonkey
11-08-2011, 09:17
Sheesh. Maybe I'll wait for Zim to get back, he appreciates a good pun. He wanted to call the TWS2 RPG 'Hojo Rising' :laugh4:

Hey, what about 'Beat Down Avalon'? :laugh4:

Nightbringer

Obviously not a fan of the Sex Pistols

I have never heard much of them to be honest, which is odd because I listen to a fair amount of music that is similar in style. My girlfriend did give me Friggin' in the Riggin' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPGLNYAgL-8)though which is pretty good I must say.

phonicsmonkey
11-08-2011, 09:37
Beat down Babylon, war Inna Babylon and babylon burning are all famous reggae songs.

I also considered Chant down Avalon but it didn't work as a pun

Ahhh please no puns and pop-culture references (Wrath of the Khan is enough). Avalon? If we're going into mythology I've read enough Celtic myths to give you a ton of names. Regarding sex pistols - "God save the Queen! She ain't no human being!" guy knows his stuff.

War of the five Kings then? Very GRRM-like.

I'm shocked, shocked to hear that Ignoramus enjoys upsetting the status quo. :clown:

I have no doubt you'll do better then I did, as you've surely learned such lessons as 'Don't risk your entire Royal Family in a battle they can't retreat from'.
