So, wet season start in the tropic, and now, unfortunely, the periodical horde of mouse now start to showing their face in the city.... unfortunely, while I not really know it, there's some mice slip in the house.

Grumpily looking for mousetraps in the old, unopened hoard of old things that we've put in the unused room, the spring loaded mousetraps are broken (a certain idiot drop them from second floor and they're broken), leaving only cage-type mousetrap to be available for use.

Now, put little bits of leftover food as bait, the trap is loaded and I allready catch a rat inside today, yeah, catch it alive, and it was killed by airgun shot to the head, execution style... but as I load the trap again, and being a little angry over those pests just stole foods again, I decide to ask you, what's the most painful... horrible... and yet practical, death sentence, I must bring to those little grey buggers?

thanks...

add:

I did think of:
- impaling them and roast them on the open fire (we're still burn garbage here - don't start lecturing bout global warming, I live in third world country without proper garbage management)
- impaling them alive, and feed it to neighbour's cats / dogs
- drowning them
- smash them to pulp with hammer
- etc

This is the best frontroom thread that I've seen for months.

Peanut butter is great at attracting mice - and they get their adorable little paws stuck to the stuff as well.

You already did it. Airguns, executions. That's the way to go.

If you really want to do it like a man though, don't use traps. Lay in wait...use a stick, and hunt them.

sadly, they're more attracted to fried fish and leftover rice here...

well, but pumping the gun, grab the mouse with old cloth, and hold it while pressing the barrel to it's head seems too much work...

We once caught a rat in a "cage-type" trap. Most of the time we drown them, however not this one time.

You see we got a Jack Russel. Born to kill.
Me and my dog went to a place in the open and let the rat free, into the nature! Unfortunately for the rat, our dog ripped his head off.

Killing animals for sport or "fun" is disgusting and shameful practise.

I like to think that the Frontroom is a place where one can discuss a wide array of subjects, but I'm afraid that animal cruelty is not one of them and I won't allow such a topic to remain open for discussion.

There are plenty of ways to kill household pests such as mice, there's no need for impaling them, pulverising them or anything else barbaric; a simple mousetrap is probably the most humane method and should be the one considered above all others.
