The UN says the worst places in the world to live are in Africa. The bottom five are Chad, Mozambique, Burundi, Niger and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The five best places to live are Norway, Australia, the Netherlands, the US and New Zealand.

The UN gives Australia first place in its measure of ''non-income human development''.

So nice beaches but not rich enough to take first place.

I haven't found the report itself yet, but will look while traveling.

Some of the weighting seem strange. Sexual Inequality is linked to having kids early... poor yes, sexism not so sure?

You can't say no when your face is swollen from saying no.

I'm surprised we're still top 5. Yay

Isn't that awesome. My chair suddenly felt more comfortable, my laptop faster than it uses to be.

No education+ no salary work for women = early children (or rather the reverse, getting education or jobs push the child bearing age up). Very high correlation actually.

Norway = two towns sitting on a lot of oil. You can safely consider Australia to be #1

Australia = 8 towns sitting on a whole continent of iron, aluminum and gold ore plus a surplus of LPG in the billions which we sell to China.

Plus 40% of the worlds easily recovered Uranium.

We are just a butt shaped quarry.

... securing favourable trade from the remnants of their empre. It's US actually as #1. Now, who wants to tackle that one?

The messias appeared in the person of Obama. So it's really New-Zealand that is #1

Odd that having children late is implicitly a good thing. I would not argue with education, but it appears that for women to work is better than to have children when one is at a younger age. By this, if all women were having children in their 40's that is better than at 25.

I would have thought that the total number or children and possibly maternal mortality would be more useful factors.

The U.S. is just a pile of guns sitting on top of a nuclear stockpile.

Which is why we're so awesome! :dancing:

No?
