Welcome! Are you sure you don't want to start with the Saka or Pontus?

But seriously, start with Pontos on VH/VH. It's the only way you'll learn to play EB.

Never use another then Medium Battle difficulty if you don't want to have an unrealistac battle experience (levies beating elites 1 on 1).

Fellow Roman Cyrillus, be warned, this forum is full of Roman-hating barbarians. Just ignore their taunts, and enjoy expanding the power of Rome and bringing Roman law to uncouth barbarians like them. ;)

In EB 1.2, the only way the glory of the Roman Empire can be recreated is with a human at the helm. Under AI control, if not wiped out by the human player, the Roman faction is almost always slaughtered by the AI Lusotanns and AI Carthaginians, who unfortunately are able to build too many elite units. EB II will hopefully fix this problem by limiting the number of elite units that can be built in a specified time period.

Difficulty level: Recommend M/M for newcomers to EB. That way the AI factions don't receive more financial help than they need, and also leave the mercenary pool available for you to use as allies, which is helpful since Roman recruitment is limited in the early game. Also the AI does not receive an artificial bonus in battles.

shamefull barbarian the only reason why you weaklings need baths is because you haven“t learned to live in the midle of forests like real men i mean seriously you even wear dresses instead of proper men cloths bunch of effeminates that need to hide behinde armour when facing keltik dogs. they are dogs kick them where it hurts and they run with their tail beteween their legs like all dogs do!

and ofc wellcome to the new guy i hope he learns the way of real men soon enough and trades the stinky olive oil loving romans for a nice burrow in the forest where he can breed with his 15 year old wife instead of rapping his 13 year old cousin

Lol. Sounds like a beastiality porno. I think I hear Ludens getting ready to shut this thread down. On topic, Cyrillus if you have any questions feel free to post them in the forum. As long as they arnet about Lorica Segmentata you should get a friendly response.
