Units out of era

In my current Turkish campaign I brought about the destruction of HRE which resulted in appearance of the Swiss. It was around 1300 so it is still High not Late. But the royal unit (and units ot the heirs) of the Swiss is Armored Pikemen, although we all know that pikes can be seen starting from 1320. What about "and justice for all"?:furious3: Where is fair play?

Eh, this is just one of those "quirks of the game" for me. I know it's not how it should be, but I've been playing MTW so long that I've long since accepted the various little oddities like the one you mentioned.

It's kind of like how some factions re-emerge with just ridiculously huge numbers of troops out of nowhere -- it's not terribly realistic, but most folks playing MTW have long since gotten used to it. :shrug:

Outrageously large faction re-appearances and unreasonably advanced troop types showing up for the AI are two of the things that keep MTW 'interesting' later on in the campaign. Otherwise it can be a bit of a cakewalk, and so pretty dull.
