To an extent it's necessary that kids are ashamed of their parents etc. to help them start their own lives and get away from their parents.
Maybe that was the real goal here, maybe the parents wanted their spoiled brats to leave and start their own lives and stop kissing random girls/boys while living off their parents' pockets?
It's so sinister and so hilarious and such a good lesson, I may do it as well when I have a hot daughter who is promiscuous and dumb enough to want to kiss a "stranger" while being blindfolded. I just love it.
