Steam Install Question

Disclaimer: I am truly out of my depth when it comes to computers. I've followed the guides for installation, but I'm really confused and pretty much need to be led by the nose on this one.

I've installed the Rome Total War Gold edition via steam and am attempting to install EB. However, I cannot for the life of me decipher where exactly to set the path for the installation (if that is even remotely the correct way to phrase that). On other total war games, I've found everything I need in the programfiles(x86)/steam/steamapps/common area, but I get the impression that won't work here. I'm sure I've asked an incredibly stupid question but if anyone has a moment to spell it out for an idiot, I would greatly appreciate it.

Did you follow this guide (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?p=7180711#post7180711)? That normally works. Please try it again and post back here if it doesn't help you and give me as much information as possible, especially at which step the problem appears.

If you have Vista/Win7 disable UAC while installing EB as you have to access Program Files.

Huzzah! Thanks for the help sir. I didn't even think to check that site. As I said, I really have to be led by the nose sometimes. However, it appears that after going through all the steps for 1.2, I'm still only playing 1.1

Should I install it again?

This means you installed the 1.2 patch into a wrong location (the installer has to be directed to the main RTW folder, not the EB folder inside it), I strongly recommend a new installation! Don't forget to apply the 1.2 fixes.
