I keep getting error bombs when I try to do these functions...let's try one simple.

clicked on general outside of town:
remove_ancillary this Witch

err: bad command

Anyone have trouble with commands in EB2?

I really hate some ancillaries and removing them by killing off a general seems like an annoying idea.

Why is the Total War engine built on limited retinue anyway? To me its one of the more fun parts of the game to see a new retinue.

Also, it makes zero sense why one character would need 3 druid types to assist with healing casulaties if they do not stack. Which will happen if they train at the Isles for any given amount of time.

So...just looking to remove some of what I deem to be ancillary duplicates.

Can't you give the druids to any other family member?

You can't remove ancillaries in RTW with console commands.

You can move some ancillaries from one family member to another. Group the two family members together in the same stack, click and drag one ancillary to the other and it'll then belong to the other. Some ancillaries cannot be moved, can't think of any now as an example, but the majority can. Move all the ancillaries you think are rubbish to a useless FM, then go pirate hunting.

Its only in M2TW that you cannot remove certain ancillaries IIRC.

@OP: I'm pretty sure the "this" command doesn't work in RTW too.

Is there any other way to remove ancillary? Say from the .sav file or other?
Overall the EB engine looks really good. I like the design a lot better than RTW. Only problem I see is that certain factions will get overloaded with crap ancillary. All my FM's in the Casse (7 of them) are full simply because I had them train at the Isle.
I like the Casse because they are fun to micromanage early with a strong group family to play with. Also, I like to see what ancillaries I can get post-battle.
I just want to clear the crap ancillaries and continue the game after taking out England/Ireland.

OK good point all. I will just sink my crap generals. Although it was kinda fun putting the really bad ancillaries on my best general and seeing the effect be negliged by +5 in other catergories :)
