I am fixing up my dad's old 1903A3. It has problems gripping and chambering rounds, and I believe it is due to a worn out magazine spring. Does anyone know where you can buy one cheaply? I don't want a modern spring that would work in it, but an original from another 03A3. (the entire point of owning a gun like that is because it is a piece of history, so I want to avoid putting things on it that don't belong)

either on ebay or buying an entire gun are likely your only choices.

They sell gun parts on ebay? wow, thanks. Looks like I can snag an original there for about $15 and $5 shipping.

You and your big gun.

I am not sure whether or not to take that seriously, but an 03A3 is hardly a big gun. It is only a 30-06 carbine. Full power round to be sure, but hardly big; I would call 40 cal and above big, not 30 cal. (though I suppose it depends on what you are used to)

Doesn't matter. Everyone likes to see the progress made on fixer uppers, before and after pics for old cars/houses is fun.
