Hi im waiting for my laptop to get fixed. Once it is fixed i've finally decided to bite the bullet and do a roman campaign....
Previously i've only really played the barbarium + greek factions and polies.

Now when i play barbarians i love to role play. I always tend to keep leaders + older family members in their home cities with their direct family. If someone conquers a settlement them or their direct family gets to govern it, faction heirs who dont get on with their father get sent to the corners of the relm to govern some dung heap, while the favourite son fights rebels and helps their father on campaign. I also tend to try and keep units to family member for life (and once they die they go to the oldest son), milita will only be recruited in times of need, and i will only swap troops between armies if they are a direct relation, if theyre not the family member has to also join the army, no exceptions, faction leaders sons will rarely leave their troops either..

Youngsters must prove their worth in battles, usually against rebels with small forces before being trusted with a large army (as casse i always send youngsters who come of age to that good old druid boarding school in wales aswell). Elite troops stay with the faction leader unless the general is a basically a hero, and cavalry is only given to the oldest the elite and then only given out if the situation "strictly calls for it". I also try to not reinforce troops all the time from unloyal generals, to represent their hesitance to join battle.

Now a greeks and polies i try to do something similar but never into as much detail.

As i have no idea how to RP with romans any of you more experienced members got any tips??

Apparently best Romani guide around giving tips to historical expansion/family member strategies/army compositions et cetera et cetera.
