Ikko Ikki Religion question

Is it possible for other clans to adopt Ikko Ikki religion, like Chrsitianity?

If you are playing as any other clan except the Ikko-Ikki, Ikko-Buddhism is a virus and should be treated as such. Not only does it make conquest of central honshu particularly tricky, but it makes the Ikko-Ikki incredibly difficult to wipe out. Ikko Rebels will regularly pop up with half-stacks of monk troops unles you take an active role in converting their old provinces.

The only way to solve the Ikko Ikki problem is to burn everything it touches, then burn the people who burned everything it touched, then burn those people who burned those peop... you get the idea.

I think you would need a scripted event(like with christianity) to be able to convert to Ikko but I never heard of such an event, so no Ikko religion for you.

Burn them and spam their Cities with Missionaries / Monks. Kill the Ikko ikki!
