Actually I always crack up when I hear the "yo ho ho" song because once a friend was over while I was playing and (his dad is a corp exec) when he heard the "ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh, oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh, yo ho ho, yo ho!" he said it sounded like his dad in a good mood for getting to fire someone. LOL

I thought the "yo ho ho" song is for mobilization. Whenever it is played,
I always see my Ashigaru's dancing to the tune, towards the enemy..

I have heard the "yo ho ho" song, but isn't supposed to be followed by "and a bottle of rum?" http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif The last time I heard it outside of shogun was at the Pirates of the Carribean ride at Disney World. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Yes, give the Ashigarus their Rum! It raises morale. If only the foreign traders would give you a rum factory.....

May be the singer of that song had too much sake (Japnese traditional alcohol) before he recorded the track, lol http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

I personally always thought the "yo ho ho, yo ho!" part was the taisho laughing upon seeing the pathetic enemy army. hehehehe

Chihuahua,

Maybe the dutch will bring over their own form of courage in the EX pack. It can be a drunken massacre.

I've never listened to this song in the game, either. Perhaps the track was too short? (However, I think it was a very well-made piece).

The sound of STW is really great. My favorite is also the "Yoooooh Yoooooh Yo Ho Ho, Yo Ho" one http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

I think this theme is one of the better ones, pity it wasn't included. Generally I think the music for STW is very well chosen, the yo ho ho is a bit odd.

Actually, if you think the "Yo ho ho" song is strange, you haven't heard much Japanese folk type music. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif It's actually most of the rest of the soundtrack that sort of has a "generic oriental" feel to it. The music for expansion got good reviews, I hope they added tons more music files for battles. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Hopefully there will be more musics in the expansion: only 6 or 7 tracks (for battle) in the original now. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif These battle music are all well-made pieces.

I also like the end-game song (the one with "Oooooo~~~" base voice and periodic "Dang" sharp notes).
