hey everyone,

i am looking for a computer to use solely for playing games. since i don't have a clue what they mean with things like intel core i something and all that kind of stuff, i am asking you for your opinion. i don't want it to be a laptop, and it has to be around €700,- to a maximum of somewhere near €900,-. it would like it to be able to play games with high graphics, although this doesn't have priority over price, unless not to much over maximum. it shouldn't get to hot while playing.
it will be used mostly for total war games, from empire to shogun 2 (and further when new titles come out).

thanks in advance for any help.

this would be a good start:

be careful of the spec tho, you want the cheapest one with the 6670 graphics cards, not great, but will do what you need.

I'd recommend Tom's Hardware (http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/) where they review components specifically for gaming (I'm sure they're not alone). One notable thing is that dual core processors are currently more cost efficient for gaming than 4 or 6 as games are not often that multi threaded.

The most important thing is of course to decide what games you like and also what resolution and graphics you are prepared to pay for.

ok good to remember that dual core is more cost efficients. thanks! but, my parents changed their minds, and decided i couldn't buy i gaming computer. instead, they are going to replace the family computer (where i play games on now) with a new one, and they are trying to make sure they get one that can play games without crashing. this one will also have more memory space, so maybe i can then also install new games when they come out (i'm kinda a nothing-but-totalwar gamer).

thanks for all of your help!
