Can't play EB at all- Just downloaded it fresh from the site

Whenever I try to play the single player campaign, a box pops up which says "Select an item from the list." Also, whenever I try to do a custom battle, after selecting the units nothing happens after I click the "Start battle" button. I literally just downloaded and installed EB from the website.

Are you using BI/Alex to start EB or it is plain RTW? re-read the installation guide (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=80270) to be sure to install it right.

Check out other technical issues (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=103681) if you encounter them and read the EB-FAQ (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=84854) before starting a game.

If none of the above helped to solve your problem post here again.

hey, thanks for your help...but I forgot to mention RTW is installed on my mac.

This is the Mac-related thread (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?130342-EB-for-Macintosh-questions-amp-support-thread). I don't use my Mac for gaming so no specific support from here.
Normally this kind of error comes if you want to start EB for RTW on BI/Alex executable.
