Agema Hippeon Hellenikon secondary weapon

This unit has attracted some hate on the basis of their supposed weakness, including the allegedly under-powered kopis-type swords. Now the EDU does list their secondary weapon as a kopis, but when I actually had them draw their sidearm to watch them chop up some infantry, I was like "WTF HAMMERS??"

This probably means that the EDU entry should be changed to

and so on, or is the the sagaris simply an atavism of this unit that never got addressed?

They're not hammers, they're cavalry bills. But yeah, they're AP weapons. They puncture armour, quite the same way credit-card bills puncture your money.

Yeah I know that. I've even seen the holes they make in human skulls. They still look like hammers at first glance. And it's not an answer to my question.
