View Full Version : Moving Characters-Problems with the Casse

Hello everyone,
A sensible thread for a change now. I am currently playing a Casse game, I am roleplaying as if I am the Belgae. Therefore only men with Atrebates, Ambiani and Bellovaci ethical traits will ever be faction leaders and heirs, and only those with other Belgic ethical traits will ever be allowed to lead a field army. However after taking the Belgic lands I foolishly shipped my FMs back to Britain and dispanded my only fleet. Therefore I am trying to move my FMs so there is a higher chance of them raising offspring with Belgic ethical traits. When I try to do so with the characters "Mowg", "Sentata" and "Margorix" the script fails to recognise these FMs. What am I doing wrong? Is there a special way to write the names of these FMs?

Yes it is. (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?132960-Guide-How-to-use-move_character-in-EB) EB's naming system is too complex for the RTW engine so the team used some workarounds.

How would that work? Doesn't the offspring get the father's trait? Or are you talking about adoptions?

I'm assuming here you mean "ethnical".

Thanks XSamatan!

Lysimachos, i'm not at all sure how that would work, I just assumed that actually having my FMs in Belgium would increase the chances of Belgian ethnical traits. And yes, thank you for the spelling error, my brain was in a very poor state yesterday due to beer.

I think that you have to own provinces in question for certain factions in order to get those traits. Not 100% sure however.

IIRC sons get the ethnic of thier fathers every single time and adopted FMs are get a random ethnical trait that are possible for your faction.

Well, I thought rather than start a whole new topic I'd add my question/problem onto the end of this one. I'm trying to move characters in my Romani campaign and...well, I must be missing something, but I can't figure out what. (The only reason I'm moving them is for role-playing purposes - if a character becomes Plenbian tribune, or an aedile, for instance, I hold them in Rome for the length of their office)

Anyway, I'm aware that there are internal names but even they don't seem to be working. So, I have a Lucius Aemilius Scaurus, who has become Plebian Tribune. Lucius Cornelius Scipio is still alive so he is Lvcivs Romanvs, and when I use 'character_reset "Lvcivs Romanvs"' it highlights Lucius Cornelius Scipio. But I have tried every other "Lvcivs(A-K) Romanvs" and none of the characters exist. Please, what am I missing?

I had such problems with the romani too. For some reason the internal naming does not always work with the romans. For me it works with Captains but not Admirals and not FMs. The game seems not to use the A-K internal names only the one without an extra letter. E.g. one Lvcivs is influenced by the console commands but none of the other Lvcivs, if the first one dies one of the other can be used with the console commands.
