Do you guys ever use American coins, since they look the same as Canadian ones? Down here in the states every once in a while you'll find Canadian pennies and nickles in your pocket, or in the till. I've even accepted them as payment at work when I knew they were Canadian and not American, since they look and weigh the same I could care less.

people often did the same here usually by accident with the old English 50p which was the same shape and colour as the old Irish one. The amount of travel between the two countries meant that it didnt matter if you got done you could offload it soon enough yourself.

All the time.

I know one person who worked in a "money room"; since US quarters were exchanged at par (across the counter) he would purchase them as they were being counted; they could either be rolled and exchanged for full value at a bank or saved for US excursions.

Not that strange to find American currency if your living in Canada.:2cents:

and vice versa:

I've had so many Canadian pennies given to me, it's hilarious

of course I have to raise the question of why anyone in their right mind would bring the Canadian coins down south: must be how they reduce inflation :clown:.

Maybe they just want to use money that's worth more.
