WHAT IS HAPPENING ON EA- HACKING!

Guys,

Tonight something very strange and horrible happened. On EA there is a hacker. YES there is one.

He was getting in control of people's names and insulting everyone with it.

Example:

NoFearTerazawa Ito says: I hate you

But I didn't type that!!!

I almost fought with a Tenki because of this and I am absolutely pissed off.

And this happened not only to me but to lots of players.

Please excuse me if you see any rude things or something by me, because beware it is not me...

Tenki didn't continue fighting with me because the hacker said:

NoFearTerawa and didnt type well Terazawa.

And oh well YES, I just got to know that the Tenki I am mentioning is him. Who? I cannot say names but he is the guy who was banned previously. The evil one. I am not accusing anyone because actually the Tenki was a victim of the hacker himself. But this person himself always brought suspicion.

This has been seen before.......about 2 months ago somebody did the 'name' thing with RageExecutioner....and as those who know Exe, know how quiet he is....but the things the 'hacker' typed were sick....I mean those who know the Monsta know he say strong words and often uses 'fowl' language (in private chat).....but believe me the things what were written were not nice....and will not be repeated here.
EA or whoever should be told.....with the recent banning of players....who knows who could be next(and falsely accused)?...although be aware that people may use this as an excuse for idiotic behavior......(not you Tera)anyway......I back you up Tera your not the first.....but unless somebody has just found this 'hack'...its the same person....first recorded case I saw was about 3 months ago!!!!not sure who got the trouble then but they were talking to me in private while somebody was using their name in public!!!!

you say that this "hacker" misspelled your name? well maybe he did it on purpose, cause then he could just make a name that looked like yours but wasn't, and he wouldn't have to hack anything. For example, my name is blah blah blah blah blah (edited for content), and noone would notice for a while.

actually won-ton,

that's exactly what the previous 'hacker' did. it's not really a hack. this was done to elmarko too a while back..i think it was elmo. the guy came in using elm's name but had used a different last name. most folks dont really pay attention to someone's full name so it looked like it was elm. it wasnt.

i suspect that's what they're doing again. they may keep the first name right and just use a wrong last name or they may slightly alter the first name and use the correct last name.

it's also been reported within the last week that the 1 or 2 folks who were banned before are back. they simply bought new copies of the game (or stole them, who knows)

i really do wish game developers would come to me first before publishing online games. i could make their lives and those of their customers so much easier :)

the name thing is a very old trick for harassing folks and cheating. it's a shame someone is using it here and it's why i still push for restricting the number of names one player can have per cd key.

I check any variation of my name and there wasn't any...i am convince its a hacker....and somehow able to use our name without any variations...

I don't know who did it but it was funny to see my name saying stuff i didn't type...eheheheh...but seriously i think something should be done about it.....
i won't accuse anyone because there is no way to prove anyone did it....so just have to report to EA to tighting up there security....

The "hacker" has done this nasty trick to several players online about three months ago and it has been mentioned in other Posts.

It was done to one player and some very very bad things were said, the decent player had no control and could only respond by denying he was saying those things. Later on (about 1 month after first incidents) it happened to three other players including myself, this time only stupid and mildly insulting things were said. The hacker had exactly the same name as me, he has broken the security code or whatever in the online Forum.

Someone in authority must fix this or completely ban that hacker for good or take legal action against him.

Yes, I agree that there is a hacker. 1 hour ago, I was in the MP room. I send a message to room saying, 'Has anyone seen Kuma?' There was an answer (It all looks like this in the MP room):

However, I've noticed that there is no Kumma on the player list in the room!!! And it must have been a hacker because Kuma name is KumaRatta Yamamoto NOT Kumma Yamamoto.

Swoosh has the point. The guy may have done what Swoosh has said. If Swoosh is right, then it's easy to catch them. Just look at the name above the "hacker" name. For example:

speaking of hacking recently and ppl using others names...
when i played a 2v2 the pther day, whenever i spoke it spoke with the enemies name and he also kept his name
obviously this was very confusing so we all pressed `esc` to get out and ended up the multiplayer-limbo and had to reboot
now perhaps this is what happened in the foyer, a player spoke and someone elses name came up, (when i spoke i assumed Yabosama name)
i think this may just be a case of strange goings on with the server and probably not due to hacking

yup. swoosh had it right. he showed us last night after terazawa was victimized. as soon as he showed us, i went, 'oh sh*t, the old chat room/irc trick...lol'. and that's really all it is. it's not a hack, it's not a fake name thing, it's just a chat room trick that has been done for years. and yes, it's kind of a cute thing to tease your friends with, but it can also be used to antagonize others by making it look like someone is using another name.

and since we seem to be editing out how this is done here, i wont post it either, but i can tell you how to detect it if you suspect someone is using it. if you dont want this posted, then admins, just edit this out.

when you see a message in the chat room and suspect it's a phony, just click on the name. instead of having that name come up as a selected name for private messages, nothing will happen, or if you already have someone else selected for private messages, when you click on the phony name it will unselect whoever you already had selected and put you back to 'room'.

just to emphasize, it's not a hack. it's just an old chat room trick. it's also why tera's name was spelled wrong at times when the person was using the trick.

as a side note, i tend to be of the consideration that it's better to tell everyone here how to do it...forewarned is forearmed, but since the admins see it differently, well that's fine and i respect their decision.

oh yeah, the other way to detect it is that the false name being 'used' wont show up in the player list, unless of course, they are using your name and since you are in the player list that wont work. so the most reliable way is to click on the suspected name.

Krast learned this method of 'fake naming' in another game's chtroom where it is very common.

Krast is guilty of causing this most recent introduction of this horrible 'thing' into the Shogun chatroom.

I spoken to the guy who did it and he was doing it as a joke. It was kinda funny, but then it does pose problems. People shouldn't do this sort of thing because it could get out of control.

Usually i would stay out of this, but i believe that all of you guys are majorly mistaken. I have quit tenki as of when Zen and Kag left. Tenki was my home and the main reason i played this game. I decided to quit the game until the campaign comes out or in the winter when things are very boring. Plus it seems more and more people are making this game less fun with people stealing techniques i use and such. Well anyway this is what the name "Hack" is all about.

If anyone is familiar with ANSI codes there is a way to do funny stuff with certain key numbers: For Instance

ALT + 0128 makes a symbol: €
ALT + 159 makes a symbol: ƒ

Anyway there is a formation of keys you can type that will act as a return key so you can type on 2 lines maybe there is a formation will make 3 or more but i don't know it. Anyway say if i type a message like

TenkiSenjutsu: Hi Guys (then i type in the code it will bring me down to second line so i can type something else like this:

TenkiSenjutsu: Hi guys
ShogunMaster: I rule this game

so it's not really a hacker just someone who knows there keyboard really well. If you go searching i'm sure you can find the combination to fight back.......

As I was saying, that isn't the only way to do it. A new account could be created and it could have the one person's name closely copied, but with one symbol changed, like a 1 changed to a capitol I. I had to edit my previous one cause I didn't wan't people screwing with my name.

So I typed
