Saved games being deleted

Hey, folks. I have had to stop playing Rome: TW because I keep getting a few decades into a campaign when the computer mysteriously dumps the saves I've made, both quick and auto. I'll click "Load game" and it will give me options to get back into a session I was playing six months ago! What's going on? Is there a patch? I'm playing on a Windows 7 system.

I don't run Win7 so I can't say if it has something to do with that. Under WinXP, I get occasional crashes that delete save games, so what I do is this: I don't use the quick-save feature as it seems to give more problems than its' worth; I use archival saves (a named save-game independent of the auto-save) and I use two of those. So if something happens during the AI's turn, or even my own turn, I have two saves to fall back on.

I would suggest NOT using the quick-save feature and use archival saves instead to see if that cures the problem.
