Greetings. My name is Drako, on behalf of Taleworlds, Paradox and Flying Squirrel Entertainment I wish to announce an upcoming release, Mount and Blade: Napoleonic Wars. The release will be a multiplayer DLC that you can buy for Mount and Blade: Warband.

If you have played games such as Empire/Napoleon Total War you will find that M&B: Napoleonic Wars is similar to those games in many ways. But, have you ever wanted to have the possibility of controlling one of the soldiers on the battlefield and fight a huge battle as a simple infantryman, cavalryman, be in charge of the artillery or even command your own army? With M&B: Napoleonic Wars you have the chance to do just that!

M&B: Napoleonic Wars is based around the Napoleonic era. The DLC brings the Napoleonic Wars back to life, with over 220 different units divided throughout 5 major factions; France – Great Britain – Prussia – Russia – Austria. Every faction will field many different units which are historically accurate to resemble the real types of units from the Napoleonic Wars, such as light cavalry, skirmish units, militia units and so on. Here is a list with some of the DLC’s features:

- Many different types of units, such as militia, line infantry, skirmishers, light and heavy cavalry, dragoons, sappers/engineers, artillery such as cannons – mortars – howitzers and even rockets.
- The possibility to choose either to be a simple soldier within a regiment, a flag bearer or a musician to raise the morale of the troops or even be an officer where you command the regiment in battle.
- Regiments with flag bearers and musicians will receive a “morale” boost which consists of certain buffs that increase the regiment’s effectiveness in battle.
- A huge arsenal of weaponry, ranging from firearms such as muskets and rifles, to swords, bayonets and lances and even large weaponry such as howitzers and rockets.
- Well-crafted maps where the environment offers you a delightful scene and a realistic feeling.
- The opportunity to join large-scaled online battles with up to 250 players on a single map!
- A well driven, friendly and organized community which hosts weekly official events.
- The opportunity to join a regiment, which is the specific type of a clan for the DLC. Meet new people, train together, join arms in battles and fight for glory! You can even create your own regiment if you have what it takes!
- Destructible infrastructure; buildings, fortifications, even real life-sized fortresses.
- The opportunity to build fortifications in order to “design” the battlefield in your favor. You can even transport artillery pieces from one place to another on the battlefield to make sure that your enemy will be under constant bombardment.
- The enemy is holding their positions across water on an island or the mainland? No worries, you and your comrades can jump into a transportation boat and sail out towards the enemy.

Want to know more? Does the soldier in you crave for more information and answers to many questions? Fear not. Make good use of the links that I have pasted on this thread, or go ahead and reply with questions or what not.

I'm really not looking forward to this; the last game was pretty bad, I honestly took little enjoyment out of the firearms and a mount and blade game in timeframe where they were universal doesn't appeal. I'm going to wait for a demo or the reviews come out before I touch this. I really hope the series goes back to medieval fantasy next game, maybe with a big budget and modern polish, if we're lucky.

I didn't like WFaS that much either, felt like singleplayer was very tedious. There was no way to "get into" the action, since as soon as the bullets started flying i was invariably shot dead on the spot. A lot of time was instead spent doing command and control, and with WB's limited options there that quickly got both tedious and frustrating. Reminded me of the elves in Prophecy of Pendor who will put twenty arrows in your eyes the moment you get in range. :laugh4: Vanilla (or modded) Warband is still my flavor of choice.

How are you planning to overcome these limitations? Any extended tactical options that we can expect? How is the lethality of firearms in comparison to the last DLC? Sounds like you are strictly focusing on Multiplayer from your chosen bulletpoints.

In this thread both drako and froogle look like they're just here for the advertising.

In other threads not so much but if I don't get a nice donation PM from you guys, explaining why this is not against our policy against advertising, I may consider deleting this completely.

Meanwhile I'll close this thread, we already have a thread for all things Mount and Blade, a good shill would've noticed. ~;)
