Hey all!

I'm slightly tipsy, so have crawled out of my shell and registered!
Where to start though!? Well... it feels like it's been an eon of time... nearly half my life in fact.
That's how long I've played MTW, and read your posts. Many of you feel like old friends, many of you have left, all of you have been helpful!

I don't really have much to contribute, except for nostalgia for nostalgias sake! Perhaps that's good enough now!
My name's Paul, I've played all of the TW's except for the original Shogun... I was never drawn so hard to any game as MTW. I'll run through a quick score card of my opinions!
MTW- 10, (longevity, beautiful mods, enough atmosphere for it to bleed through the screen!)
RTW- 6, (fun for a quick blast, big leap for CA to take, fairly nice atmosphere... flaming pigs... grrrr!)
MTW2- 3, (terrible, great mods! Terrible, someone said Shrek... I concur, way too flashy, with no heart!)
ETW- 7, (haters gonna hate! Just for me personally, it catches some of the atmosphere of MTW... with heavy faults, DLC can bite my ass... wasted potential, but some beautiful battles... with broken AI.)
NTW- 4, (technically a leap over ETW, but from a money hungry publisher, with shallow consumers too boot.)
STW- 6, (beautiful artwork, and its obvious some work has gone into this title... complete with shallow AI, and an arcade feeling to boot!)

Sorry for that, sometimes it's hard not to just wonder what happened! Maybe it's rose tinted glasses... I just load up and know that I'm in for a good time!
I'll stop rambling now haha! but leave you with this...
You know you play too much MTW when you meticulously record a family tree on paper, complete with things like killed by assassin , to burned at the stake...
Happy gaming and future discussions!

Welcome to the Org and Main Hall, SlapFace! ~

Your nostalgia is good here, it's quickly becoming the preferred currency.

You know, I've been pretty close to that one. Even dreamt of recording all factions' dynasties as far as it can be done. But being generally short of time, I hardly find an opportunity to play the game to say nothing of keeping MTW-related archives.
But some day ... some day! Perhaps, when I get tipsy. :laugh4:

Hail to thee! Cometh and join the gallant knights at the table of glory, and eloquently recount many a tale of tactics and folly! Well met

Now stand in front of a mirror and say GAH five times in a row... and if the Great Camel is pleased with you, He may bless you and accept you into His secret cult.

But I have spoken too much about such matters already. If this veiled society finds out, they will pay a vis

Hi SlapFace,

be most welcome to the realm of (hihihi) no, not THE CAMEL yet, I´m far from that as well as newbie, but the realm of scolarship and madness of THE GAME! Nice to have around another one who´s got drunk by the beauty and the depth of that adventure.

So just have fun, enjoy life and the game - and this great community.

HHHHAAAANNNNGGGGOOOOVVVVEEEERRRR!!!!

....was that loud enough for you?!? ;-)

at the moment, there seem to join in quite a few people having known this community for some time (like me, joined only few weeks ago). Traditionalists as well as discoverers, coming from the nifty 3D-stuff to the real McCoy...great!
And Axalon, keeping the good work up and going - so we find new challenges and beauty in a completely out-of-date game.

@ Jack50: don´t know your birth year, mine is ´58 - and got a remedy for hangovers: There exists a "Tsipouro", sort of greek Grappa, you can drink all evening and go to bed on all fours - and no hangover at all next morning ;-)
is tested for years now and works...want a bottle? Go for holidays to Chosiario/Mani/South Peloponnisos, pop in at Miltiades´ Tavern, and get you a 5liter-bottle for mere 25€ ;-)))

no-hangover-greetings daigaku
