Port Royale 3 is out

Any Port Royale fans around? Its been 8 years since Port Royale 2, and I still got that game in good memory. Looking forward to give it a go today if there is enough time.

Loved the first Port Royale, never had the time to get into PR2, probably wont have the time to get into PR3.

I liked the first one, to a large extent because of the nice sea battles with huge ships.

Second one then introduced this crazy sea battle stuff where you get only one ship and the enemy gets all their ships and you start using one of your ships after the other etc. That annoyed me greatly in the demo and I lost interest.

From the screens it's still just like that in PR3 so I didn't even have a second look. Yeah, I know it's also about trading and adventure and so on but I just couldn't stand the idiocy of using only one ship until it sinks/flees and then the next etc.

In PR3 you will have the opportunity to choose three ships that will act as your warships/escort ships, and you will control three ships in the battle. When you are not controlling the ships yourself, AI takes over. To be honest, I am still messing around as trader and didn't get around to actually get into sea battles.
