I just tried Alexander on M/M difficulty saying "I'm kind of an experienced player" I took the first 2 cities (Halicarnassos and the one in Cappadocia) then I faced about 3 full-stacks in one turn, the 3rd one completely smashed my army (Alexander and some of the cavalry barely got away).
Now I'm looking for a decent kitchen knife to remove my manliness because of my ashamement... :hanged:

I noticed too that when you go trought from Halicarnassos to Issus; Theres whole lot of full stacks you need to take out. After that it turns around and you have full stacks vs opponent having half stacks on defence.
I did it by hitting constantly with one full stack and having reinforcements running on the background. Plus recruiting a lot of merceneries. When the full stacks came; I tried to stay in city and kill em on the walls and front gate. Usually making a pocked around the inside of the gate from spears/phananxes, showering them with javellins from around it, then when some of the enemies brake; charge in the cav (or go around from other gate and charge the tail) and chase em all the way to the border.
I still havent finished it tought; I usually lose my intrest when big fights are done. Have to give it a go since I brought it.

I have also thought about staying in the city but I guess that takes away a lot of time (AI usually lay siege for 3-4-5 turns) and given that you have 100 turns...
