Wow, since my return, I have not had a single warning...
This might not be the best forum for this post, but it is where I usually hang out.
From being a forum stalker from Shogun on, to a participating member from (I think) Medieval on... A lot has happened. And I must honestly say, this has become a second home for me.
Fun fact: The people I respect the most are those I argue with. You all know who you are. I have never found a forum like this, with people of different opinions from all over the world. We might hate each other, but we do it in an orderly fashion. Heck, I would defend some of my worst antagonistic enemies against pretty much anyone agreeing with me.
I also think this (part of the) forum has made so many of us grow. I have seen so many extreme members turn around in their belief. Not so much for the strength of a character, but because the strength of an argument. And that, ironically, says a lot of the strength of the characters here!
And those not turned around, has at the very least gained some respect for people of the opposing side of the argument.
I guess what I am trying to say is: let's not let this die. Let us bring it on to the new members. Don't get me wrong, if you have a sharp mind - you should use it to cut people to pieces. However, let us continue to do it with some respect.
Let us also remember this is a games forum, and, you know, try to bring people into the game. And this particular forum. We have something special here, but for crying out loud, let us NOT make that mean excluding newcomers.
If we can make more people feel like we do, we can make this forum live on.
We in the backroom could help with: Bringing people in. This type of game attracts people attracted to the backroom. I am not saying we are the flagship of the forum, but why don't we pretend like we are? That might go a long way.
For me, all I can say is that some of the people I wanted to punch in the face upon joining are now some of the people I respect the most. I still do not agree with them, but I sure would fight for them to have the opinion they have.
Again, thank you all! Friends as well as foes!!
