It is almost impossible to select a single line, you get these 4 dots but they are unruly, you never know when you put them where they should be the selected text has all kinds of ways of making it a most miserable experience. With every move it goes everywhere so now I just type sentences over to avoid frustration. Am I missing something over here it looks so easy in the tutorials but it just doesn't work. Are there any apps that allow me to copy paste texts without any trouble, trouble like feeling to throw my iPad against the wall because it's impossible to just copy/paste a sentence.

Hm, I don't have problems with it. In Safari it is just holding your finger on a word and then it is selected(or keep your finger on the screen until all turns blue and then move finger to whatever word you want to start with) and you just drag the blue dot/bubble to where you want to end it. How difficult can it be, heh.

I have minimal experience with iOS, but I can testify that copying and pasting in Android Gingerbread is a pain in the kiester.

Sounds simple, thing is is that it doesn't work. It's completely random what part of the text is selected. It's going everywhere. Is there a way to 'film' what you are doing, I'll show you

Another thing, the glass showing sucks as well, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes the whole text is selected, sometimes just an alinae, sometimes just the word. It drives me crazy there is no logic whatsoever to it

Is it on all websites (still assuming it is Safari) or just some?

All and it's completily random, than it does this than it does that, otherwise touchpad works, no problems with gaming. It's pretty infuriating. Problem only applies to placing the vertical dots, you never know what you are going to get

You have same problem selecting text in apps like Notes?

Just tried it with a book and that works fine, must be safari suckage. At least that means my ipad isn't broken that's quite the relief

Yeah that is at least some comfort. You could try to shut down Safari: get the multi task bar up (doubleclick homebutton or use multitouch method) and then press on the Safari icon until it starts to wiggle and then hit the X. Maybe a restart of the app will help.

It wiggles just fine but there's no x, which ipad do you have I have the 3

gah sorry, it is not an x but a little red button with a white minus on it. Hit that button and the app is closed down.

Edit: I have the latest iPad, but they all have same method of shutting down apps anyway.

Don't have a minus on any of my apps if I 'wiggle' only an x. Some don't have anything at all, newsstand safari etc

Oh I mean the task bar you get by double "clicking" the home button: http://ipad.about.com/od/iPad_Guide/ss/How-To-Close-An-iPad-App.htm

Removed plenty of apps with x, but the - in you link is nonexistant here, some have an x but none have a -

You don't get the task bar by hitting the home button twice (quickly)?

edit: or by using 4 fingers on the display and then drag up?

You might need to enable it in the menu. The multi touch feature is a great one IMO http://www.tuaw.com/2011/10/12/ios-5-features-new-multi-touch-gestures-for-ipad-2/

It helps to close Apps from time to time.

You can also restart an iPhone(and I assume iPad) by holding the home and power button until it shuts down and an apple appears, meaning it's booting up again.

Screenshots can be taken by clicking both buttons at the same time, they will end up in your camera screen. Wouldn't mind seeing some in the screenshots thread if you enjoy gaming on the iPad that much.

I'll try. It is a fun device to play games on, but only games that don't use the virtual stick. I bought a logitech joystick you can mount on it but it doesn't feel right. I wouldn't recommend an ipad to a gamer they are better of with a 3ds or vita, it's all not quite the real thing
