Stuck on title screen

I searched the forum and don't think anyone else has this problem, so I'm making a thread. I seem to have installed everything correctly, except that when I launch EB I get the title screen without a cursor or any way to continue to the game. I'm not sure what's causing this. Can anyone help? I am using my steam version of RTW: Gold Edition.

EB takes very long to load, be sure to wait at least 5 minutes before exiting.
If that did not solve it, disable protection software during playing (or list EB on your programs whitelist) and run it with admin-rights. Check if Vanilla works.
