Truly sad, I think this is the first time I can say I watched a species die, thanks to the internetz

Lonesome George's existence is an allegory for MMORPG players.

And for "only childs" who turn out to be homosexual and forsake the bloodline and name of fathers powerful loins.

Goodnight, George. I hope it wasn't foul play.

Just read this elsewhere. It's really sad. A species gone forever.

Didn't even know about Lonesome George until now, yet I'm still saddened.

Recently, a friend told me about a British explorer who discovered a new flightless bird on an Australian Island - he sent a sample back to London and by the time he got word back that it was anew species his cat had killed them all.

People are stupid, destructive and there are far too many of us.

So - now another Epic Fail for humanity as "Guardians of the Planet".

Who calls us that? :inquisitive:

I'm paraphrasing from several world religions and philosophical systems.

This is very depressing. I remember hearing about Lonesome George several years ago. I thought George would live a lot longer. RIP. :(

The fact that he has passed on suggests he was well over 100 - though some of his kin do survive on Isabela, he is just the last known pure line Pinta.
