My buddy is getting married and I am a groomsman. This marks the end of whimisical pursuits.
I have no plan, nor direction. I really thought I would have drank myself to death by now.
How does one deal with adulthood? Is there a pamphlet?
It just means you can drink even more, without adults frowning at you.

If there's a pamphlet, they don't give it to you.
I know how you feel - friends are getting married, getting pregnant, and you think "I don't have a steady girlfriend, or a career path."
That's normal - when my friends started getting married I thought "that's awfully young" and at 25 it still feels like that, and probably will until/if I marry.

I think the only times that I did something during a wedding was when I was the ring bearer and I was 5 and 9 during those weddings and didn't have much of an interest in the bridesmaids.

For western culture before we embraced modernity it was going to war. At least for fighting cultures and fighting class. I'm not sure how, for example a french peasant would become a man.
