patton i deleted your thread for fairly obvious reasons. if you're going to come up with that level of abuse and obscenity you will get banned, so i'd avoid doing it again. For htose who are interested the general theme was htat patton objects to people camping on hills in MP and considers this has ruined his enjyment of the game and ruins tactical battles. IMO this is rubbish, if you don't use hills your're a moron and you're going to get beaten.Objecting to other people doing what is tactically sensible is daft. Ashte one reply to the thread already stated you don't have to play hilly maps.

Hey there's a neat idea ...

- Our girls fall for samurai and they'll go chasing after them.
- If the bandits come they'll cut our heads off. We'll worry about the girls later.

Sometimes when I see someone repeatedly opening 1:1 games on a hilly map as the defender, just fer the heck of it I go in to see if I can beat them. And when they, not surprisingly, park with their butt up on the crest of the highest possible ledge, it's all the more pleasing those times I'm able to beat them. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Bah... I don't care what that bloke is talking about, hill is important... but the... uhhh.... I really don't play multi-play... so just ignore me. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

I prefer smacking A.I.'s behind at my leisure... besides, I love the strategic element of the Shogun, not the tactically. That's what make this game so great... something for everyone

patton must be a moron, being on a hill only means you CANT MOVE. unless youre in a corner, the enemy can take his time and surround you, or bulk his forces where the slope isnt much of an advantage, etc etc

the only true 'campers' Ive seen are those who #1 play on bridge maps with no handicap #2 always play on the same map as defender, they get an enormous experience advantage and victories at the cost of fun #3 castle defenders

I guess anyone would become a better taisho in STW as long as he gets more experience from failures... http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif So rather then blaming the "stupidity" of new members how about we just focus on the attitude.

daft? bloke? you guys are so silly... hehehe... anyway, I do know a few ways to beat people on hills, and it's pretty easy. I would tell you, but then I'd have to kill you, so i guess your out of luck. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif

P.S., how do you make that little smoking face?

Curves are the pleasure of life. Why... what can we play with if there are no hills and valleys and no fields of gold?

Plain Jane maps can be fun too, of course. Not that there is anything wrong with that!
