Anybody else notice this...
It seems like as the time of the expansion grows nearer and nearer, more people are "Taking their leave" of the original Shogun for awhile in anticipation of the Mongol Invasion... the foyer has seen (from what I've seen) decreasing numbers in the last few weeks and it's been harder and harder to put a game together, and the posts on the forum seem to be slowing up too.

Very true indeed. I myself have been giving Shogun a break, bith online and single player, and the posts on the board have slowed down to a trickle, maybe everyone is annoyed with the possibilty of the release date being pushed back.

yup been happening for a while now..if the exp is delayed again...could get worse before it gets better.
I concur. For the first time since I have got Shogun I removed it from my hard drive at the first of the month.
I'm hoping playing the expansion for the first time will make the experience seem all new. Especially with the bugs fixed. I am so used to seeing all the troops the same color on the battlefield because of the 1.12 patch that the fixed expansion should seem very surreal for me.
When I get the expansion I'm not even gonna play the Mongol Invasion part yet, but rather the standard campaign just to see how I fair with the new stuff happening and hopefully the Hojo horde fixed.
Well... its summer and the parents are taking all their kids to Disney World and/or Epcot Center. That is why there are so few left online... its just us geezers and loonies now...
yup held off playing for this very exact reason.
Cheers

I can see things are going to die off even more now in the next few weeks. I think people who were hanging around playing and posting (the few that were left, anyway) because they were gearing up for the expansion will now move off and enjoy their summers since it's been delayed again.

Actually I was quite surprised by the life-span of STW enthusiasts when I first came here (about 2 months ago). http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif Other games having such a prolonged support usually come from super-big company with very sound contents. (STW does not feel so big compared to its 1.7 G full installation)
I am not saying Shogun is poorly designed, but it is fair to say STW is not as detailed and well-marketed as AOE, Star Sraft, Nobunaga's Ambition and Romance of Three Kindoms series (by Japanese company KOEI), etc. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
STW is the best (or nearly if possible) game I will have ever played - no doubt of that - because it fits my interest really well. Really hope the expansion pack can have decent quality http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif
