On the wiki article on Qamas they had this pic. Isn't that in way too good of condition to be original? Does anyone know the origin of the particular sword in this pic? Is it a replica (I'd think it would have to be), or is it original?

Your pic give the English name as a Circassian Qama. If you know that why did you ask?

You'd need to ask the guy that posted it as it says it was his own pic and not a link

Fisherking, I know it is Circassian, and I know it is a Qama, but I don't know how old it is. I agree with Frags that it probably isn't older than 200 years, as it is in such excellent shape, but that is just my guess. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the sword pictured, and could tell me how old it is, etc.
Call me a noob, but that thing is absolutely beautiful.

That's just for the blade, it can't be older judging from the steel, it has some detoriation-marks. The leather is new

I thought they were still being made in limited quantities, in which case there's no reason it couldn't be of more recent manufacture. Yes? No?

There is some oxygine-erosion on the blade but the steel looks like good quality. It can be much older if it was kept in good circumstances. But I doubt this one is new.
