Your own perception is a prison, you are a prisoner of the inaccuracy of your own senses, a prisoner of incomplete evidence. Yet, does it really matter? So is everyone else. As long as you are conscious of the circumstances then so what?

Is that really the best question your lecturers can conjure up?

What Psychonaut said.

But what we really need is a def'n of "prison" within the confines of this discourse...

Otherwise, to paraphrase Dawkins: Not only is the world stranger than we imagine, it is stranger than we can imagine.

Dayadhvam: I have heard the key
Turn in the door once and turn once only
We think of the key, each in his prison
Thinking of the key, each confirms a prison
Only at nightfall, aetherial rumours
Revive for a moment a broken Coriolanus
