Questions about the DAIMYO

I have some unclear observations about the STW Daimyo.

1. It seems that the next DAIMYO (succession after the current DAIMYO is killed either in battle or sickness) will be the youngest HEIR and not the oldest or highest rank HEIR. Or will it be the one nearest the home province?
2. Related to no.1, when the youngest HEIR became the DAIMYO, he left his original unit and was replaced? (his original unit numbered 120 and when he left it is still 120). Plus, this is more serious, his original unit was a monk unit from KAGA (+1 honour).. and when he left they became honour 0.. so what happened?
3. Will the non-DAIMYO heir(or generals) die of sickness too...meaning can the age of the non-DAIMYO heirs/generals rich couple of hundreds (if playing the campaign that long) and still live.. as long as there is another HEIR for succession? Hojo has a lot of heirs ( 5 or 6 I think)
4. What's the actual count of the DAIMYO bodyguards? Sometimes it's 10 but there are times that it is only 9
5. Lastly, on battle, does the DAIMYO die last on his unit when they are about to be annihilated? From experiments, this seems to be true to my DAIMYO but not the AI DAIMYO (sometimes, one or more of his escorts manage to flee.

Regarding radan's original question:

1. I remember in patch 1.12 readme it says this problem is fixed. Personally I haven't verified it, though. (Who is Tokugawa Ieyasu? http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/tongue.gif)

3. The ages of outside-the-house generals are not counted, so I guess you are correct!

4. I also remember back in the days of auto-resolving battles, I've seen 9+1 combination a lot. But after I play personally I don't see it anymore. Maybe a bug in calculation? Also, if the daimyo is defeated and retreat into castle, his bodyguard won't "grow back" this quickly.

5. Not exactly. The daimyo is usually H6 and H7 with the taisho armor bonus, making him much harder to be killed by arrows and melee. That's why he is usually the last one to be killed. However, if you rout his unit, he is almost just as vulnerable as his bodyguards http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Thanks Maltz! Regarding no.1, I have the patch 1.12 and I played Hojo to a point where I could have an army of HC's w/ Legendary armour,weapon,morale raised on shihano!
For no.3, then if you want to try a R8 general, it is best to develop a non-heir gen then. The highest I have had is R7.
