If ever we were in need of a definitive progress report it would be now. I think I am just putting into words what everyone else is thinking. Just give us a yes or no to any slippage and stop hiding behind a veil of ambiguity in the "honor days", or should that be "dishonor days"? Well, rant over, even though I know he will not grace us with his prescence I feel strangely calm, deep breaths...
P.S My grievance is not with any slippage, if indeed that is the case, but with the fact that no clear indication has been given either way.

I am beginning to wonder. But seriously, I am sick and tired of the contradictory nature of this stuff. On the one hand the new honor day says the release is almost upon us, and yet we have numerous release dates to the contrary and no clear message from Richie. You would think, so close to release date, he could be ungagged just to confirm the date.

But seriously, I think these rants do not exactly encourage the developers or the people affiliated to them to pay much attention to us.
Well, what do you suggest, just sit here like good little people to get dumped on time and time again? I am a veteran of the original Shogun buildup, and what a rollercoaster ride that was. To be honest these rants serve only one purpose, to get things off my chest, the developers would not drop by even if these rants were not present. And if they do lower their estimation of the board, then I am sure it is not as low as theirs is in many of our eyes at this time.

Well, I think I know perfectly well why the X-Pack may have been delayed. Now if I told you, what would you then know? What real information would you then have that would really make a difference? Would the game arrive any sooner? Would it be any better?
No. The only thing it would do is give you just another reason to start bickering about 'Why did that happen?' or 'Why don't they do something to prevent that?' or 'We the gamers are always ff'd...'
Or, to say it in other words... it wouldn't change a damn thing since there's always going to be bickering about this.
Want a really good piece of advice? Don't believe ANY promise ANY company makes about ANY release date of ANY game. They are wrong 90% of the time.
Want another really good piece of advice? Don't worry about release dates. The only date worth thinking about is installation date.

But asking people not to trust others on what they say is shaking on the foundation of civilisation. My Khan stated that compagnies should only release releasedates when they are 99+% sure and not 10%.
Do what you say or just keep your mouth shut. Or at least explain it extensivly why you were wrong before.

Erado-San, normally, I do not believe company release dates, but it was the fact that Richie expressly said that the game was finished and in production, and has kept us in suspense as to whether the game is delayed or not.
That was not what he said.
He said the game was in production, and clearly the game must be finished before being produced. I know that there is still a chance for July 20th, and I dearly hope so. I need to reiterate my grievance. Why did they give us a cast-iron date of July 20th, when clearly there are still doubts about that date?

"In production" means being made for sale.

Thank you, finally some pepole who share my grievance with E.A. Why the hell give supposed cast-iron dates if they are still in doubt? We have also been led to believe that the game is in production. Of course, if July 20th occurs, we will be extremely happy, but that seems to be a receeding hope at this moment in time.

actually, 'gone gold' doesnt mean it's gone into production. all it means is that it has left the developer's hands for the first time and gone to the production guys. that doesnt mean it's 'in production', and that's a big difference.
there are several instances of a game having gone gold that was then delayed over and over by whatever. maybe they couldnt burn the cd's from the master or found bugs and had to return it, or the developers called it back or whatever. i'm NOT saying that this has happened to the expack. i'm not even trying to hint that it has, cause i have no idea. all i'm saying is that that fine little line between going to the distributor and actually being produced is not proven to have been crossed yet by any official notices.

Maybe Ritchie and company were convinced it had reached the 'ready for production' stage but somebody else (hint: some other company) had other views on that?
Well, from the new honor day. at least Richie has been reading and percieving our discontent.
Im thinking maybe we shouldn't get so pissed off at Richie *thinking.......god damn Richie* maybe we should blame EA *fucking EA* i used to like EA to but now i've lost a lot of respect for the bastards. Maybe so people will buy there products they should say something about it being pushed back before its supposed to released in 4 days. f******.
