Okay, so this is how it works, even if you are not online:

Desktop goes to full screen FBI Page

Norton and Mcaffee do not stop this thing

There are paragraphs explaining that you are in trouble for one of the following reasons:
- Accessing obscene material (links ssome BS statute)
- Accessing copyright material (links some BS statute)
- If your computer was hijacked, you violated the (my personal favorite) Computer Security Act of XXX by not keeping your PC secure (links to some BS satute that explains 5 years in prison LOL)

Cannot Alt Tab out
ALT TAB DEL to bring up control panel, and control panel immediately closes itself out

Screen explains you are being fined $200 and tells you to proceed to one of various retail chains to buy a MoneyPak prepaid credit card thingy, then return and input the code into the FBI screen

HEre is the best part...... in order to make you feel even more "guilty" the bug hijacks your webcam and in the top right corner of the FBI screen is a live feed of yourself with something like "We are watching you"

HAHA. Funniest thing I have ever seen. I wonder if someone actually paid the $200, and if they did, if the issue fixed itself.

Anyway, if you get this
1. Start in safemode with networking
2. DL and run RKill to stop all the bugs applications
3. Then DL and run Malwarebytes to scan and delete files
4. Stop surfing for free porn

HAHA. Funniest thing I have ever seen. I wonder if someone actually paid the $200, and if they did, if the issue fixed itself.I'm sure people have paid. There's really no incentive for them to fix the issue- so I'd be surprised if paying clears it up. They've already got your money... they could care less about you after that. This is a slightly more amusing take on other ransomware scams- like the phony anti-virus viruses that will clear up the problems they have caused if you just buy the full version of their software....
