You now have no excuse not to play these great games! They will run on any modern computer! Better than that, the capabilities for modders have been so expanded that the sky is now the limit! (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140085)

Morrowind 3 or whatever was just released as well. Lots of good older games received upgrades recently.

Seems like someone got their hands on some source code...

"Guerrilla patching"?

They found the source code on a harddrive of an old Looking Glass computer thrown into the dumpster and have been working on this for over a year. It is not legal for them to do it (even though it is morally correct), but it is legal for you to download it.

Does this mean I need to break out a drive for my System Shock 2 3.5" floppies?

Doubt it's illegal as Lookingglas went bust (fu Eidos). Ex-lookinglass employees are known to visit ttlg and even play fanwork I doubt they mind it very much. Ain't the Thief community a rabid bunch hehe. They are also mean I got banned because I sexually intimidated Starfall, she deserved it imho as I never defended Israel's policy because I don't get laid. I am better at that never try me. If you for some reason are not a Thief-fan for silly reasons like never having played it, Join usssssss join us NOW

Yeah, I am starting a Thief HD project (replacing all textures, models, and skins with high def versions, populating levels a bit more to make them more realistic, and redesigning terrain a bit to add more polys and make it look more realistic.
Here is a tiny demo I created of the new features.

To the left are pillars using the max sides previously allowed, and to the right, the new ones. (The harsh lines on the new one are actually the result of the texture not matching correctly. When a different texture is used, it looks completely circular.)
You can also see one of the new high-res textures I put in game (Not my creation, but it looks good and is free to use, so I am implementing it). Notice the 32-bit lighting.
