Android games

So I'm finally getting a holiday in a couple of weeks, Cuba better have stocked up on Rum, after a promotion to much busier jobs for me and the Mrs and I splashed out on a new Nexus 7 tablet to take with me. So far I've downloaded myself a few films to take and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for games to load up? I've had a look at the Football Manager one but can't tell if it's any good, other games I like are Faster Than Light, civilisation and TW, obviously, not a big fan of turn based games (even with the obvious inconsistency in that statement, Civ is pretty much the exception) so has anyone any suggestions?

They don't have to be free but if I'm paying for them obviously I'll expect a bit of polish.

Oh, should we have a sticky or sub-forum for other formats? I wouldn't think it justifies a sub-forum but maybe a couple of stickies for Android, Apple and Macs?

Stay away from FM, it's dumbed down to a level of a newborn ogre.

I don't know if you're into football simulations as well as managerial ones however, if so, I'd definitely vote for FIFA 12.

NFS Most Wanted -a racing simulation- is praised, much more than its primary contender, Asphalt 7.

Modern Combat 3, NOVA 3, Shadowgun are the first ones if you like FPS games.

Among casual games that primarily take advantage of tablets' simplicity and touch-screen-based structures, Where's My Water, Temple Run, Fruit Ninja, Cut The Rope are the most popular ones.

Virtua Tennis Challenge is a reputable tennis game. Total War Battles is the TW franchise stretched to Android. The infamous Minecraft has its pocket edition version too.

Android games marketplace feels like a hullabaloo at times. A big drawback of "free games" is that they generally are not free at all. Most would cost you a lot more than major publisher's titles - they generally force you to buy in-game stuff which elseway you would not enjoy the game anymore or could progress very slowly from a certain point.
