Xiahou is probably still recovering from the cold night he spend laying in front of the store to get his latest Nintendo and probably can't comment right now, but he isn't the only Nintendo-fanboy here. Some can wait or just don't have a sleeping-bag. They aren't for sale now at the moment over here, but I am dying for some impressions. It's looking awesome.

The Wii-u just launched in the states edelweis-boy, a much more competent console than the xbox and ps3.

maybe but wii-games tend to suck beyond the mario/zelda type games =_= only fun game i played on wii that wasnt just fun with a big group of friends acting clumsy was dragonball z...

I really enjoyed the concept of the Wii, but the games were by and large appalling. I'm not likely to bother with Nintendo again if they insist on sticking with bland games.

Couldn't care less. Aside from the occasional Mario or Zelda game, there's no reason to care about the games library for Nintendo these days. Furthermore, they're all about gimmicks and wierdness that appeal to casual or non-gamers. I like traditional controller styles and traditional genres, and so really the last time I gave a darn about Nintendo was the N64. :shrug:
The controller now is a tablet with controller buttons and joysticks on the sides. The Wii-motes are being kept around for use like Kinect or PS move.

So when did you check-out completely from reality? The Wii-u is a souped up 360/PS3. In the same way a Wii was a souped up Xbox. Projections are the Wii-u will sell much much worse than the Wii.

Even with minimal use of the functionality you can place inventory and the hud there, but they are doing some pretty fun things with it, like making it the motion tracker in Aliens, or a sniper scope.
