Richie and his honor days suck

Just want to rant about how much respect(very little)i have for Mr Skinner.

Yes the expansion may not be ready and yes we all want a great product released'but he does not update or inform of us anything and any info he gives misses out the things we all want to hear and insults our intelligence.

Case1 The original release date being postponed to July 20th.

What does Richie do??

Pssst "I'll post an honour day update and mention the new release date'but won't even mention there was a previous one and hope they won't notice.In fact i will not even give reasons why and make it look like i am posting this again for the first time"

case2 We are all practically crying out for info on the .org and .com forums on previously posted date of July 20th and basically he is giving us a total deafy and believe me'richie pops his head in these forums practically everyday(maybe several times a day) and reads the posts'but hardly posts anything.So he knows we are wanting info and i have emailed him twice and got zip'even though he is definately online'as he posted his new honour day on Friday 13th July.

Pssst "think i'll post an honour day'giving no mention of being 1 week today till my previously posted release date or scotching rumours of further delays.I wonder if they will notice??Anyway who cares as i am in my little office and they can't see me or hurt me and they will buy this product whenever we release it so phuk em"

So yes Shoguns the greatest and the Expansion maybe will come out on July 20th'but the way Richie does his job and supports us is shite.
I don't care about tourneys or a site getting an award'but want the web marketing manager to be straight with us and post good news/bad news when it happens.

Hi Hach!

Hach i have voiced my opinion about this matter both here in the past and on the STW forum many times. I get frustrated when release dates come and go. I get frustrated when they EA seems to ignore our requests for explanations.

We all tend to take out this frustration on Mr.Skinner..he's the face of EA and our first point of contact with that organisation.

I have come to the conclusion that he's a mushroom just like us! "Kept in the dark and fed on ****" I dont say this in a derogitory way.

I think july the 20th was (as far as he was concearned) was the "release date". But over the past couple of weeks something has changed. Here in the UK it seems all the retail outlets are adament that the release date is the 3rd of August.

I think Mr Skinner has been put in a difficult position. Assuming EA have actually put it back until August, I can understand why there have been no "Honour day messages" confirming or denying the date.

A few weeks ago he posted it had passed CQC'but now it has failed CQC???

And on Friday he would have known that this was going to fail for July 20th'but still posted his "close to release date" Honour day

Don't feel sorry for Richie'coz i don't.
I appreciate there are problems'but it's the way he shafts you at the very last minute'instead of being straight weeks ago.

Put on your hip boots, cause the sh** keeps on coming. We can't get pissed at Richie he isn't in charge of the release date. The poor guy is the one that has to tell us that they are pushing it back, and I am sure that he is just about as pissed as we are, but probably because we are all getting pissed at him.

First thing to remember is that Richie (aka The Shogun) is the Marketing Director for Creative Assembly and not EA. Second thing is that he is the Marketing Director. At this stage in the game (production-wise) Richie is updating us as close to real-time as he can. As Nagao points out, he is as much of a mushroom as we are right now and it's completely out of his hands.

As I mentioned in another thread, the whole CQC issue needs to be looked at separately. Just because the software passed doesn't mean that the associated documentation has. Quite frankly, the delay due to documentation can only be a good thing (especially for those of us in North America).

Actually this kind of delay has almost become part of game feature nowadays, not only for Shogun: Total War.

I think some of youz need to get out and play the game some more... that way, you will not feel left out to dry. Go bash heads in MP... or smash peasants in SP... Heck, at least you have something to play with now!

If youz want to play as a Mongol, get HC, CA, YS and Na exclusively. That will get you into the flavor of things to come, just without the specific new units. Sure, you cant get sanda bomas, skirmishers, kensai, bninjas, NC... but that is life...

Shouldn't you all be used to this by now? The exact same thing happend with the release of the first game. Meaning, The lack of information from the developers(CA) and the publishers(EA). And the constant pushing back of the release date. I for one am not going to be waiting for the add-on this time around. Now, that doesn't mean I won't be buying the game. It just means I could care less when it's released. Do you really think CA or EA give at sh*t what you think?! They have never once visited this board! And I've been coming here long before the first game was even released. Also, looking for information from Richie is like looking tits on a bull. The dude just dosen't have any. Just relax my brothers.

I don't mean to stir up an old can of worms, but I wouldn't be upset at all if they hadn't promised dates. When I read that Shogun was "in the works" and projected for "Winter", no problem. I'm not online checking the status everyday. When there's a promised set date I do keep checking and am held in suspense a bit. I think the company holds a bit of responsibility to their customers in that regard.
