Segesta in Camillan Era as the Romani

Hi,

I'm playing EB 1.2 as the Romani and have conquered Segesta. This town is supposed to allow factional barracks even in the Camillan Era. I've instated a level 2 government (Provincia Romana), as I would like to recruit those Ligurian Cavalry, even at the expense of the level 5 of the factional barracks.

The problem is that, once the government building is finished, I can only construct auxiliary barracks, but not the Roman factional ones. Is this a bug and will advancing to the Polybian era remove this issue implicitly, or is the level 1 government obligatory in this case?

Ligurian Cavalry are a regional unit anyway (as are Ligurian Spearmen), and I'm not sure if the town is really supposed to produce Camillan era Roman units. I'd say upgrade the Auxilliary MIC to tier 3 (IIRC) to get the cavalry.

IIRC, you can build the factional barracks in Segesta, but you only can recruit Roman missile/support troops during the Camillian era. After the reforms, you´ll have access to Polybian infantry.
Besides, athanaric is right: the Ligurian troops ain´t Roman factional troops, actually ( they are gathered in the celtic roster in the edu ).

I've finally found the answer. You need indeed a level 1 government in the cities of Italy to gain access to Camillan or Polybian factional troops barracks. I've entered the Polybian era having a level 2 government in Taras and Rhegion, and the factional barracks would not show up. Demolishing the government building and constructing the level 1 government in its stead has solved the problem.

until you have acess to polibyans your only chance to have some factional troops outside your initial territory is segesta taras region bologna or milan will only put out regional troops that if you have any experience with balkanic or french women does reflect alot on todays reality

In the Camillan era, as well as the Polybian era, the romani factional MIC has a special requirement - a level 1 Gov. We can find the related text in the EDB. So u have to destroy the level 2 gov and build a level 1 one. Then, u can build the romani factional MIC and recurit the principle in Segesta.

except that in the camillian era if you put a level 1 goverment there in taras or bononia or reghion they won´t alow you to have a factional barrack
