Every time I open it an error pops up saying:
"Error: Filename doesn't exist: eb/data/animations/engine/ballista_idle.CAS"
How to fix this? :wall:

Did you properly substitued the .txt file in the directory?

Also you can try a full reinstallation of Rome and EB, perhaps your data got corrupted at some point of the process of EB installation or before it (if, for example, you have modified Rome's data prior to EB by installing any other mods or by your own tests).

Try to substitute the whole "ballista" folder:

I tried patching, using a BI shortcut, and reinstalling both

This means you're using Barbarian Invasion as base for EB? If so, perhaps that's the problem and you need Rome Vanilla. I've read that's possible to use both expansion packs of Rome, Barbarian Invasion and Alexander, but it's possible that you will need to tweak something before EB works on them.

Found out all errors are caused by a text in descr_engine_skeleton.txt:
