For some reason I can't get this to come out as a normal size image, but if you click on it, you should be able to see it enlarged. It shows Gaspard de Richemont, commander of a unit of Order Foot Soldiers, in the service of the Sultan of Egypt and currently part of a jihad army.

That guy will have a lot to explain when he gets back home to the Grand Master of his order!

I did a quick look in the unit prod, Order Foot are faction limited for build purposes, but not Culture limited. So I'm guessing that unit got siphoned off by the jihad as it moved through.

Nice guess, but I encountered about 2 or 3 other Order Foot units in Egyptian service. Those ones were not in a jihad and had too many men to make siphoning plausible. My best guess is that they were bribed, possibly after turning rebel which would make them more bribable. I suppose there's always the old stand by too - a corrupt save. All I know is that the Grand Master is really mad now.

Well now, you started something. An Egyptian jihad just attacked me and the LEADER was in charge of twenty some order foot soldiers. That Grand Master's head must be spinning now.

Well, I thought that the obvious explanation was that the order foot soldiers had been abducted by aliens and held prisoner for a year on the Mars so they could be questioned about the Da Vinci code, in which case joining a Jihad would be the obvious course of action to take, but if you perfer a complicated conspiracy theory, then the Grand Master could be a suspect.
